Going Native
This kind of winter and spring usually motivates folks to get active in the garden. May we suggest you consider use of native plant material? The District Office is landscaped with such material and is now blooming with beautiful colors. An additional bonus is that birds and butterflies, which depend on native plants as a food source, are always looking for a new home.
All of this can be accomplished without a permanent irrigation system or need for fertilizers or herbicides. Save money, labor and the environment by going native!
Here are some ideas: Evening Primrose; Coyote Mint; California Lilac; Flannel bush; California Fuchsia; and Sage. |
